OleTex® Foams

OleTex® is a line of highly versatile polyolefin foam materials that are chemically cross-linked and moisture proof for use in a wide range of automotive, construction, packaging and recreation applications. The combination of unique properties offered by OleTex guarantees the highest performance.

Thermoformable
OleTex foams can be vacuum and pressure formed into three dimensional shapes. Finished parts can be die cut, heat welded and then decorated in one processing step.

Light Weight
Densities from 1.8 to 24 PCF are possible with OleTex. Light weight along with excellent physical properties make the material ideal for athletic equipment of all types. OleTex 8-10 PCF foams have been used in place of solid plastics where weight and stiffness are important.

Strength
OleTex foams have a unique strength to weight ratio compared to other foams. This compares favorably to other foams one and a half to two times OleTex's weight. Specific properties can be tailored for special requirements, like additional tear or heat resistance.

Weatherability
Cross-linked foams have a strong resistance to sun and rain and stabilizers can be added to further these properties. It is also rot and mildew resistant and resistant to microorganisms.

Energy Absorbent
All OleTex foams provide continued impact protection. From computers to the human body, from ships to vegetables, OleTex offers optimal protection. These foams resist deterioration of their impact absorbing properties even after hundreds of thousands of impacts.

Heat Stable
Cross-linking provides these foams with 30° - 50° F of additional heat resistance over non cross-linked foams. This "wider use" window permits OleTex to be used in many gasket and insulation applications. OleTex foam can be heated above polyethylene's normal melting point and then thermoformed into three dimensional products.

Durability
OleTex's skin has excellent durability. It may be gouged, scratched or punched and still retains most of its useful properties. It is also corrosion resistant.

Insulation
OleTex's closed cell low density foam has excellent long-term insulation properties. These features along with thermoformability make OleTex the superior choice for protecting three dimensional surfaces.

Vivid Colors
OleTex offers a number of stock colors for your specific application and has one of the smallest custom color minimums in the foam industry. All colors are uniformly blended into the foam and will not bleed out in use. The foams are also fade resistant.

United Foam can fabricate these OleTex foam materials into a wide variety of packaging products and components.
