Applications

United Foam applies expertise and innovative approaches to engineering foam. We apply our knowledge of a broad range of foam and related materials, along with expert capabilities in fabrication and converting to engineer custom solutions for foam packaging, foam parts and foam products. Here are some examples of our various applications.

Packaging

Packaging is one of the most widely used applications for foam. There are many different kinds of foam and processes. While United Foam can fabricate any solution in foam, we typical focus on more specialty solutions. Our packaging experts can guide you to the right material and solution even if it is not with us.

Parts and Components

Foam is a ubiquitous material. It is used in our everyday lives for bedding, furniture, carpeting, footwear and automotive interiors. Other uses include protecting kids with football and hockey padding and a broad range of medical devices and rehabilitation products. It is used to manage sound and energy to make our work and living spaces quieter and warmer. United Foam applies our knowledge of a wide range of specialty polyethylenes, cross-linked polyethylenes, reticulated polyurethanes and polyurethanes, and value-added fabrication techniques to help customers design products to improve end users' experience through product performance and product comfort. All materials are available in fire retardant, static dissipative, conductive and UL accepted grades. Our experts can help you design the right solution.

Products

There are end products that are primarily made from foam; examples are everything from boogey boards to insulation tubing to knee pads to the #1 hand sign of your favorite sports team. United Foam is primarily a "contract manufacturer" and typically makes a part or component for our customers' end product. There are cases where we manufacture, pack, inventory, and ship final products for our customers. We can do this for your foam product.

In addition, United Foam has the resources to develop branded foam products that do not compete with our existing customers or served markets. Please see our proprietary products.
