UFP has been providing a wide array of laminated composites to the automotive, performance sports, industrial safety, luggage, flotation, medical, and leisure markets for over 20 years. The ability to convert laminated and/or foam only constructions via compression molding, thermoforming or general fabrication allows us to satisfy virtually any requirement. Our laminating and coating technology in both open and closed cell foams, coupled with an extensive knowledge of fabrics and films, has created UFP's reputation as a market leader. Listed below are some of the more common fabrics that we use in our laminating process.
Ballistic
Durable, abrasion-resistant woven nylon material that is, pound for pound, five times stronger than steel. We often combine this material with other fabrics or a substrate for applications such as duty belt accessories for law enforcement.
Circular Knits
Fabrics made from many different materials and used as substrates and backings to reinforce and strengthen a range of flat and molded end products. Features include excellent tensile strength, tear resistance and stretch control.
CorduraŽ
A lightweight, durable non-woven nylon, manufactured by DuPont. It's used in a wide range of products that require excellent abrasion resistance, such as backpacks and sport bags, soft-sided luggage, and computer and business cases.
Pack Cloth
A woven nylon, polyurethane coated waterproof material that's lightweight and relatively easy to sew. It's excellent for recreational equipment such as sport bags, ski bags, lightweight luggage, and backpacks.
SpanduraŽ
A high-tech fabric combining the toughness of CorduraŽ with the stretch of LycraŽ. Made of Cordura fibers spun around a Lycra core, it provides a level of abrasion resistance never before approached in a stretch fabric.
