Laminating, Sealing, & Welding

United Foam has the capability to laminate a variety of materials. Lamination is the uniting of two or more layers of material and sealing them together. United Foam has the ability to laminate your part by way of flame, adhesive, and heat. The type(s) of lamination used for your project depends on the materials used.

Flame Laminating

The flame laminating process utilizes a flame to melt the surface of the foam material so that it turns into a tacky substance that essentially acts as an adhesive to laminate goods to the sides of the foam.

Adhesive Laminating

Laminating with adhesives is one of the most traditional ways to make composite foam products and it remains an efficient and economical alternative for many applications. This process is effective on a wide variety of materials and there are many types of adhesives to choose from including heat activated, pressure sensitive, moisture activated, acrylic, etc.

Heat Laminating

Heat laminating typically involves melting the surfaces of the foam or heat activated adhesives and then bonding them under the pressure of the lamination rollers.
