With its vast medical packaging experience and cleanroom facilities, United Thermoforming excels in the custom designing, engineering and manufacturing of protective, sterilizable packaging of multiple barrier medical trays, medical component parts, and other items. A wide range of medical grade materials and thermoforming capabilities enable United Thermoforming to offer packaging solutions that meet the most challenging medical design specifications.
At United Thermoforming, we have a wide range of materials at our fingertips as we work with a diverse selection of plastics, foams, fibers and other materials. More importantly, we have the expertise to choose the best material, or combination of materials, for a product or package. The use of clear, thermoformed plastics is popular because one can create a protective plastic shell or rigid blister pack that facilitates item identification and retrieval. As such, we routinely work with PETG (often used in medical packaging because of its ability to withstand gamma radiation), PVC, and polycarbonate plastics. However, we also have the ability to utilize various foams, including closed cell cross linked polyethylene and polypropylene.
In addition to our experience with this wide assortment of materials, we also house a number of fabricating processes in cleanroom facilities, including vacuum-forming, die cutting, compression-moldinwg, bag/pouch sealing, and laminating.
These Class 100,000 cleanroom facilities (upgradeable to Class 10,000) can compress molded foams, die cut foams and plastics, and thermoform plastics in a cleanroom setting.
