UFP Technologies is one of the largest fabricators of foams in North America. We have access to an array of MIL-SPEC closed-cell foams such as polyethylene and cross-linked polyethylene foams that are commonly used for packaging and component solutions in the defense industry.
Closed-cell foams are non-abrasive and offer great protection and durability making these materials ideal for packaging applications. Commonly used for protective case inserts, polyethylene foam offers a high resistance to moisture and chemicals. These materials provide the peace of mind that your equipment will be protected from drops, shock and vibration while also withstanding the elements.
Cross-linked polyethylene foams offer additional benefits to polyethylene foams as they can protect "Class A" surfaces and are more aesthetically pleasing. These foams are most commonly used in tool control solutions as they will not scratch your tools. UFP Technologies has access to cross-linked polyethylene foams that are impregnated with nitrogen providing a non-toxic, hypoallergenic, latex-free solution that can come in direct contact with skin. These materials are commonly used to produce components for soldiers in combat such as backpack shoulder straps, back braces and duty belts. When combined with fabrics, cross-linked polyethylene foams provide support, comfort and protection to the soldier in combat.
